UP 303 westbound UP manifest train
Title:  UP 303 westbound UP manifest train
Description:  UP train MTPTP-20 is in the process of switching cars behind a GP38-2 and a GP60. The GP60 is pretty rare for a train working out of Topeka. Even though Wamego is 5 miles away from where I live, I avoid the place as much as possible due to rather poor photo angles, but one can't turn down 4 axle power in great light!

UP 303 westbound UP manifest train
Title:  UP 303 westbound UP manifest train
Description:  UP 303 accelerates at Wamego with the 47 car MTPTP-20. There's just something about the sound of veteran EMD GP's accelerating that gets to the heart.

UP 303 westbound UP manifest train
Title:  UP 303 westbound UP manifest train
Description:  UP 303 and UP 1029 now cross Lincoln Avenue/Kansas Highway 99 with train MTPTP-20. The train has no work between here and Junction City. The cars on the head end are bound for the salt mine at Kanopolis, KS. In the spring of this year the train began running with traffic bound for places west of Junction City, prior to that the train would be as short as 1 car at times, even returning light power from Junction City. Now, the train is sometimes over half a mile long.
